A Fathom alternative for the recordings you already have
Fathom records live Zoom, Google Meet and Teams calls and doesn’t take uploads. MinutesMaster takes the bot, file uploads, YouTube links, Google Drive files and phone recordings, and writes the minutes in the meeting’s language, Czech and Polish included. A fair comparison, with sources.
5 free credits (2.5 hours of audio) · No credit card · No AI training on your data
The short answer
Fathom and MinutesMaster both join Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls, write AI summaries with action items and connect to Claude and ChatGPT over MCP. Both transcribe 38 languages — Fathom’s help centre lists Czech, Slovak, Polish, Hungarian, Romanian and Ukrainian too. The differences are what you can bring in, which language the summary is written in and how you pay.
Fathom’s help centre says it records live meetings only and does not support uploaded calls, and that summaries are translated automatically for Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian and Dutch calls. MinutesMaster accepts files, YouTube and Google Drive links next to the bot and phone recordings, writes minutes in the meeting’s language or any of the other 37, and charges per recording instead of per user.

Where each one is stronger
A fair comparison names the other side’s strengths too. Here is where Fathom has the edge.
Where Fathom is stronger
- A free-forever plan with unlimited recordings and transcriptions, where MinutesMaster gives 5 credits once.
- Sales features on Business: CRM field sync, a deal view, coaching metrics and AI scorecards.
- An official Fathom connector in Claude and a Fathom app in ChatGPT. MinutesMaster is added as a custom connector today.
- Bot-free recording on Mac (in beta) for people who don’t want a bot in the call.
Where MinutesMaster is stronger
- Uploads, YouTube links, Google Drive files and phone recordings of in-person meetings, next to the meeting bot.
- Minutes written in the meeting’s language for all 38 languages — a Czech or Hungarian call gets Czech or Hungarian minutes — and translated into any of the others.
- Credits instead of seats: one-time packs never expire, and unused plan credits carry over.
- MCP tools that act — send a bot, import a recording, translate, create PDF or Word export links — with OAuth or an API key.
Which one should you choose?
Choose Fathom if your meetings are live calls, you want a free plan without a recording limit, and your sales team will use CRM sync and coaching. For Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian or Dutch calls, its summaries come in that language too.
Choose MinutesMaster if recordings reach you as files, YouTube videos or Google Drive shares, if you want Czech, Polish or other non-English meetings summarised in their own language, or if you’d rather pay per recording than per user. The 5 free credits cover a 2.5-hour test.
