Short answer

How do you connect meeting notes to Claude or ChatGPT?

Use a meeting note taker that runs a remote MCP server, and add that server to your AI app as a connector. With MinutesMaster:

Step by step

Set up MinutesMaster in Claude, ChatGPT or a coding agent

About two minutes per app. You sign in on minutesmaster.ai — no password or key is pasted into the assistant.

  1. 1

    Get your meetings into MinutesMaster

Create a free account and record or import a few meetings: send the bot to Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, upload a file, or paste a YouTube or Google Drive link. The assistant can only see meetings that are in MinutesMaster.

  2. 2

    Copy the server URL

Every MCP client uses the same address. The server speaks Streamable HTTP and signs you in with OAuth 2.1.

    MCP server URL
    https://api.minutesmaster.ai/mcp
  3. 3

    Add it to Claude

In claude.ai or Claude Desktop, open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it MinutesMaster, paste the URL and click Connect. Anthropic’s help centre says custom connectors work on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans (one custom connector on Free); on Team and Enterprise an owner adds the connector first.

  4. 4

    Add it to ChatGPT

On chatgpt.com, open Plugins, click + and choose Add custom MCP server. Name it MinutesMaster, paste the URL under Connection, choose OAuth and create it. OpenAI lists full MCP access for Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, and read-only access on Pro.

  5. 5

Or add it to a coding agent

In Claude Code or OpenAI Codex, one command adds the server; then sign in through /mcp in Claude Code or codex mcp login minutesmaster in Codex. Scripts and CI jobs can use a personal API key (mm_pat_…) instead.

    Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user minutesmaster https://api.minutesmaster.ai/mcp
    Terminal
codex mcp add minutesmaster --url https://api.minutesmaster.ai/mcp
  6. 6

    Choose the permissions

Read meetings is always included. Organize & edit lets the assistant rename, tag, file, share and translate meetings. Send bots & import recordings spends credits and stays off unless you tick it.

  7. 7

    Ask your first question

Start with “Which MinutesMaster account am I connected to?”, then try “What did we decide in last week’s planning call?”. In ChatGPT, begin the message with @MinutesMaster.

What MCP is, and why it beats pasting transcripts

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use tools in other apps. A note taker’s MCP server offers tools such as “search meetings” or “list action items”; the assistant decides when to call them and reads the results as data.

Compared with copying a transcript into a chat, the assistant can look across all your meetings instead of one, reads the current version with corrected speaker names, and can cite the meeting, speaker and time behind each answer. Long transcripts are read page by page instead of being squeezed into one message.

What the assistant can do with MinutesMaster

The MinutesMaster server has 31 tools, grouped by the permission they need:

  • Read meetings: search by meaning and keywords in any language, read transcripts page by page, get minutes, decisions and action items, ask questions across meetings with cited moments, and get export links for PDF, Word, text, SRT, VTT or JSON.
  • Organize & edit: rename meetings, name speakers, add tags and folders, share with a team, translate, and rewrite minutes with another template.
  • Send bots & import recordings: send the bot to a Zoom, Teams or Google Meet link, import a YouTube or Google Drive recording, or create a one-time upload link. These tools spend credits.

Permissions and privacy

You sign in on minutesmaster.ai with OAuth 2.1, and the consent screen names the app that is asking, so your password never reaches the assistant. The assistant sees only the meetings your account can see, within the permissions you approved.

Tools that change things or spend credits are marked so the assistant asks first, and the credit-spending tools offer a dry run that shows the cost. You can disconnect an app on the AI agents page of your dashboard; access ends on its next request, and every tool call is logged there.

What the assistant reads is processed by its provider, such as Anthropic or OpenAI, under that provider’s terms. MinutesMaster doesn’t use your meetings to train AI models.

Things to ask once you are connected

Plain language works. A few prompts to start with:

  • “Prepare me for tomorrow’s call with Acme — what did we promise them last time?”
  • “Which action items from September are still open, and who owns them?”
  • “Where did we discuss pricing? Quote it with the timestamp.”
  • “Draft the follow-up email for my last meeting, with decisions and owners.”
  • “Send the MinutesMaster bot to this Teams meeting and translate the minutes into German afterwards.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which AI note takers connect to Claude directly?
Any note taker that runs a remote MCP server can be added to Claude as a custom connector, and several now do. MinutesMaster’s server is at https://api.minutesmaster.ai/mcp and works on every Claude plan, including Free.
Can Claude take notes during a meeting?
Claude doesn’t join calls itself. With the MinutesMaster connector and the Send bots & import recordings permission, Claude can send the MinutesMaster bot to a Zoom, Teams or Google Meet link and read the transcript and minutes when the meeting ends.
Does ChatGPT support MCP connectors for meeting notes?
Yes. On the web, ChatGPT can add a custom MCP server from Plugins. OpenAI lists full access for Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, and read-only access on Pro.
Is it safe to connect meeting notes to an AI assistant?
With MinutesMaster you approve the access on minutesmaster.ai, choose the permissions and can disconnect at any time, and every tool call is logged. What the assistant reads is processed by its provider under its own terms.
Do I need to be a developer to use MCP?
No. In Claude and ChatGPT you paste one URL and sign in. Coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex need one terminal command.
Does connecting an AI app cost extra?
No. AI-agent access is included on every MinutesMaster plan, including Free. Reading and searching meetings costs no credits; sending a bot or importing a recording uses credits, as it does in the app.
Can I use an API key instead of signing in?
Yes, in clients that support it, such as Claude Code, Codex, VS Code, n8n, Zapier and Make: create a personal key (mm_pat_…) in your dashboard. Keys are scoped, expire and can be revoked one by one. For Claude and ChatGPT, use the sign-in.
Which meetings can the assistant see?
The meetings your MinutesMaster account can see — your own and those shared with your teams — within the permissions you approved. It can’t see meetings that were never recorded or imported into MinutesMaster.
